Vista Codec Package is a pack of codecs which can be installed in your Vista OS to enhance compatibility regarding the playback of audio and video files. Video and audio players use these codecs to decode certain file types that are not supported by your regular player. If you remove them, you will lose compatibility with certain audio/video file formats.
